We invite you to contribute to this study aims to help schools design better IBL programs by understanding students' needs. Your input in the "Basic Information" section will help contextualize the research findings. Participation is voluntary, and all information will be kept strictly confidential.

What will happen if I take part?如果我參與，將會發(fā)生什么？
If you agree to participate, you will complete the Basic Information (Parent Section, ~3 minutes):

1. Provide demographic data about your child, including grade level, school type, curriculum, and family background.

2. All information is confidential; no identifying details will be collected.

Data Collection: Anonymous online surveys via Wenjuanxing, with responses linked to a randomized code (no personal identifiers). A sub-sample of participants will also be invited for semi-structured interviews, with all interview data anonymized using the same randomized coding system.
數(shù)據(jù)收集：通過問卷星開展匿名線上調(diào)查，回答內(nèi)容僅與隨機(jī)編碼關(guān)聯(lián)，不涉及個(gè)人身份信息。部分參與者還將受邀參與半結(jié)構(gòu)化訪談，所有訪談數(shù)據(jù)也將通過同一套隨機(jī)編碼系統(tǒng)實(shí)現(xiàn)匿名化處理。
Data Collection Method: Online questionnaire + optional semi-structured interview (conducted online or in-person at a convenient time)
數(shù)據(jù)收集方式：線上問卷 + 可選擇的半結(jié)構(gòu)化訪談（可根據(jù)參與者便利選擇線上或線下方式開展
Duration: The study on students’ IBL experiences will take place over 12 months, with three questionnaire sessions scheduled for data collection: the first in April 2026, the second in July 2026, and the third in December 2026. Each questionnaire session will take approximately 15–20 minutes to complete. After each survey wave, a subset of participants will be invited for a 20–30 minute semi-structured interview. Participation in both the questionnaires and any subsequent interviews is fully voluntary.

Minimal Risks: Answering questions about academic motivation may cause slight reflection but no greater discomfort than daily discussions.

Withdrawal Rights: Students and parents may stop participating at any time, with data deleted immediately.

Will my participation be kept confidential?我的參與信息會保密嗎？
The project’s research records may be reviewed by departments at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University responsible for regulatory and research oversight. Your participation is anonymous, and all responses will remain confidential. Survey data will be stored securely on a password-protected system accessible only to the research team. After the study is complete, all data will be stored securely for a period that Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University sees fit and then permanently deleted. No identifying information will be associated with the research findings.
